Appointment bookings have been quite difficult over the last few months or more with having Doctors on annual leave or away sick. We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding.

We would like to reiterate that we always have appointments available on the day for current patients that need to be seen. 8am is the time to phone for an on the day appointment.

12 midday is when we release appointments later in the day for the same day appointments.

We appreciate booking routine appointments well in advance. And in doing this, you are more likely to be able to request the Doctor that you would like to see.

Annual clinic bookings have had to be pushed back a bit due to the shortage we have had at times in Doctors or Nurses. These clinics are important to book in for, but they are routine and are able to wait until the next available appointment time.


APMC Caring for your health needs

• The Queensland Government has declared it is transitioning away from treating COVID-19 as an emergency, to managing it in the same way it manages other notifiable conditions.
  
  
• Masks may still be worn if desired, but they will not be a requirement to enter the practice for patients who are not suffering from cold/flu symptoms.
  
  
• All patients with a fever, cough, runny nose, sneezing should inform the receptionist when they phone for an appointment.
  
  
• Patients with the above symptoms will now be required to wait on the verandah wearing a mask until the Doctor is ready to see them. You no longer have to park around the rear of the surgery.
  
  
• We will continue to monitor any further developments, and if restrictions are put back in place with any potential future escalations of COVID-19.
  
  

Staff Updates

Dr Byrnes has no plans to retire as yet. He is just slowing down slightly, and now is working Monday, Tuesday, Friday.
